Inkersall’s very own Helen Oscroft has been nominated for the Inspirational Mentor award this week, as part of Sheffield Hallam University’s Initial Teacher Education Partnership 2018.
The programme aims to provide a platform for teachers to be recognised and rewarded for their commitment and dedication in guiding the teachers of the future.
The Inspirational Mentor Awards takes place at the university’s annual mentor conference in June.
Congratulating Helen on her achievement, the university said: “The fact that you have been nominated as an Inspirational Mentor/School Based Tutor is a significant achievement and is a result of the remarkable contribution your coaching and mentoring makes to the progress of students on placement.”
Helen, who has been a part of the mentor programme at Inkersall for 3 years now, fondly remembers ex-student Laura Robertson who nominated her for the award: “Laura was an absolute pleasure to mentor. Her positive attitude, diligence and commitment ensured that she got the most out of every day in the classroom. She is now thriving as an NQT at our school!”
Helen will now go forward for selection for an overall Inspirational Mentor 2018 to be awarded at this year’s event.
